School officials in Washington have fired a kindergarten teacher after they say she was “fairly intoxicated” at Larchmont Elementary School in Tacoma in February.
The school was tipped off to Klara Bowman’s alleged tipsy behavior when a student went to the principal’s office and said something was wrong with the teachers, according to KIRO.
Tacoma Public School District head legal counsel Shannon McMinimee said they found an empty travel mug in her Bowman’s classroom that smelled of alcohol and while the teacher was being escorted down the hall by the principal and assistant principal, she walked into a wall.
This wasn’t her first alcohol-related rodeo, according to the school. In 2011, there was a “last chance” agreement after a previous incident involving alcohol.
According to the Tacoma News-Tribune, Bowman had worked at the school since 2008.
