Donald Trump continues to surge in the polls and is getting a little extra boost from a white nationalist group thanks to an endorsement and a series of robocalls in Iowa.

In a statement, the American Freedom Party, which is classified by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a “political party initially established by racist Southern California skinheads that aims to deport immigrants and return the United States to white rule,” says that it’s throwing its support behind Trump, in which he’s referred to as “the great white hope.”

The ads started airing over the weekend and are paid for by the American National Super PAC.

In one of the ads, Jared Taylor from the American Renaissance magazine urges people to vote for Trump because of his proposed temporary ban on letting Muslims into the country.

“We don’t need Muslims,” Taylor says in the robocall. “We need smart, well-educated white people who will assimilate to our culture. Vote Trump.”

Ronald Tan, a minister who also is featured in the robocalls, said in a statement that Trump is “the great white hope for racially conscious whites.”

Even more incredible is that the American Freedom Party is endorsing Trump over its own candidate, Bob Whitaker.

In the same news release about the Trump endorsement and robocalls, Whitaker brushed off the snub from his own party.

“Our campaign slogan is ‘Diversity is a Code Word for White Genocide,’” Whitaker said. “Donald Trump’s campaign may help remind Americans that all genocide, even against white people, is evil. My campaign is there to help keep the candidates on point regarding race in America.”

Trump has previously distanced himself from endorsements regardless of where they come from, saying that he doesn’t need anyone’s endorsement. However, that hasn’t stopped Trump from being connected to hate groups, considering his statement against Mexican immigrants and Muslims.

In December, the man who runs Stormfront said whenever Trump drops a bomb with controversial statements about Muslims or Hispanics, Stormfront’s web traffic spikes between 30 and 40 percent. Don Black also said that he’s had to upgrade his servers to keep up with all of the Trump-inspired traffic.

The Daily Stormer, a neo-Nazi website, also has hailed Trump for his position on banning Muslims from entering the country in a post titled “Glorious Leader Calls for Ban on All Moslems.”

After a Muslim woman was thrown out from Trump’s rally in Rock Hill, South Carolina on Friday, state lawmakers said they intended to take a stand by filing a resolution proclaiming he is no longer welcome in the state.
