Disney recently confirmed that it is removing 2019’s “Inhumans” from Marvel’s long-term film schedule.

According to Deadline, this doesn’t mean the film is canceled but that it has been put on the back burner indefinitely.

“Inhumans” already has a script from “Black Panther” writer Joe Robert Cole, and the concept of a race of super-powered people called Inhumans has been heavily featured on two seasons of the Marvel TV show “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”

The studio is instead focusing on sequels to already existing properties, such as 2018’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” and its two main superhero teams, the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy, which will converge for “Infinity Wars, Part 1” and “Part 2” in 2018 and 2019.
